Now assuming at a price of 3K-10K per week players today at least know the fundamentals of how to kick the ball, head the ball, play a position, play in a formation and are fit then how long do we really need them for this gelling to occur? International squads only get a couple of days before games and a couple of weeks before big tournaments so why are we suddenly in deep excrement?. Admittedly, time together should improve a teams cohesion but ours had been together for 30+ games last year before showing any semblance of 'togetherness'. We also have examples in the past of players arriving on a Friday and being MOM on Saturday.
I'm not saying our current predicament is ideal but is it really so bad? I guess only time will tell!
