"FORMER Arsenal and Manchester United star Robin Van Persie could be close to a sensational Rangers switch after bookies suspended betting on an Ibrox move for the Netherlands international.
The 32-year-old is currently under contract until 2018 with Turkish club Fenerbahce, but he is now odds on to leave Istanbul for Glasgow after Ladbrokes suspended betting on the move.
Sky Bet also have the transfer to take place before September 3 at a price of 1/2, a significant way ahead of the next most likely club Stoke City, who are on at 9/2.

The odds were slashed overnight after being at 10/1 yesterday, as the experienced forward is believed to be looking for a way out of Fenerbahce."

Does this mean, on the strength of a bit of a joke by some Celtic supporters, that someone (or more than one) has actually bet on this happening?
I reckon a lot of Rangers supporters lumped on him moving to Ibrox hence the odds getting slashed
