I heard the Ayr support was around the 270 mark. This means just over 1700 home fans which is a big improvement on recent times . In an ideal world some of these people wouldn't be as fickle and back as ( attend) when they can. I expect the crowd this Saturday to go over the 2,000 mark and we couldnt sniff at that looking at the last few years .
Of course we have had very lean years in the not too distant past, but how sad it is for Scottish football generally and Queen of the South specifically that we would now seem to find it more than acceptable to have an attendance in excess of 2000 for what must be one of the season's more attractive fixtures.
