the weird and very often brain dead world of Scottish football.

    Guid wee blog..................

"For over 100 years a nonsense has been allowed to gain credibility surrounding the very foundations of the Celtic which despite what many of their biggest cheerleaders will not address is that whilst Brother Walfrid was keen to help the poor Irish roman catholics who emigrated to Scotland he was also keen on ensuring that they should not mix with the native Scottish protestants which along with the persistence of faith schools has only allowed the evils of bigotry and sectarianism to flourish."

No matter how much you like to try a skew history, there is only one club in Glasgow that has practiced not signing players because of their religion and it is not in the east end. The weird and very often brain dead world of Scottish football indeed.

    'neutral' on my sides

Rob Devine joined our ranks of #Rangers bloggers with a couple of offerings over the weekend http://metro.co.uk

What he is doing is buying in to the mythology created by Rangers fans that distorts the reality. If Brother Walfrid did not want catholics to 'mix with the native Scottish protestants' how come protestants played for Celtic from day 1.

There was concern about the catholic immigrants having to go to soup ******** run by evangelical protestants who were attempting to proselytize them. That is something very different from the makey up notion that they were being excluded from mixing with local Scots.

I will repeat there was only one club in Glasgow who did not sign players based on their religion, only one club who had a sectarian signing policy and it wasn't Celtic. You know that, I know that, everyone knows that.

Catholics played for the Rangers from day one, religion only came into the Scottish game when the yahoo bigots were created.

Protestants only played for yahoo FC from day one because the businessmen who set the club up knew what they were doing, that was after you stole the players from hivs, an all catholic club would have dived and they knew this, had Wally got his way proddies wouldn't have got near the brendanbowl, everyone knows this fact.

Rangers never had a signing policy, we were founded by four young men who were captivated by the new game that everyone was talking about, we set off from humble beginnings purely for the love of football.

The yahoos on the other hand were produced from the mind of a sectarian bigot who demanded the catholics be separated from the kind Protestants offering them food and shelter, you know that, I know that, everyone knows this fact.

What a load of tosh. An invented narrative to try and compensate for the fact Rangers were the club who had a discriminatory signing policy right up to the 1980's, an absolutely shameful policy, but one that benefited Celtic.
