I've been partying out in the Greek Islands for a couple of weeks so have missed the latest instalments in the Nigel Pearson Master Class of how to turn a very good side into a clueless one. So...things are yet to click in the transformation into NP's 4-1-3-3-2-1-1-1 Dept with Nick Blackman yet to show potential, I guess.

I read Nigel Clough's comments. I don't want to go into detail but I would say it's game, set and match to Clough Jnr. He has made Derby County look like amateurs and I applaud. He's not the type to gloat. He was asked for comments before the game and he gave them. He alone built the firm foundations which are now slowly and surely being de-constructed by Messers Pearson et al....while Mr Morris sees his mountain of cash start to dribble away. It would seem that NP's revolution is all about stubbornly sticking to things even when they don't work and players are demoralised and bewildered then getting rid of the players and spending stupid money on the likes of Vydra, and others who have had half a season of experience. It's called the Fawaz...

Just give NP time and he'll really undo everything properly...then get cross with journalists who ask pertinent questions like "why isn't the team winning" and "do you really know what youre doing?".

Just my views based on the dross I've watched thus far....if it changes I'll be the first to say "Hey! I was so wrong..." which I hope I am .

I still think he was the wrong appointment at the wrong time for Derby and the quality of some of his teams playing was as bad if not worse than we have seen since, but on Fridays evidence his ability to work with limited resources holds up and he has certainly changed his mind set in the way Burton played positive attacking football - the rest as they say is history.

AS for the approach being taken now, mmm not much sign of any grand strategic plan or the "Derby Way" but I will wait until 10 games have passed before giving up hope!

I thought the way Amy Winthrop kept adjusting the positions of the cutlery was both childish and a little peevish. Quite unnecessary and failed to move the plot on at all.

Rats Nice to see your still Clough obsessed "Clough was an easy target for Rush " Get real he was here for 4 years his best finish was 10th he refused to work with a director of football so he had the soul responsibility for recruitment What's this decline your on about we have played 5 games and have more points than last season He ran rings round Tom Click for 3seasons including that night at Crawley and his outburst at Cywka telling the media he's not very bright Definitely right to sack him he would never have got us anywhere The only person who thought he was OK was Salmon's agent

Okay...didn't hear him say any of that. Understand what you're saying...I was just judging on what I heard last night and I must have missed that bit. I agree it was the right decision to get rid of him. His night last night but time will tell.

I actually found it pretty sad that he'd want to rake over things again - it's 3+years ago, but he doesn't seem able to move on. I would have thought much more of him if he'd just answered the question by saying "it's all in the past - let's look forward to the game".
I did wonder if it's his dad's influence rubbing off - the difference being that Clough Snr could say controversial things and get away with it because he was a genius - Clough Jnr isn't in the same league...

Sorry who were you on about Cloughie or Rats

I do wonder how Clough would have got on in the PL IF he had been given the funds but his man management skills whilst at Derby were woeful his tactics the same Lets ALL move on he was the manager he isn't now and lets hope the dross we have to put up with now will also be in the past soon

I can't but help imagine the job Clough would've done if backed like every manager since. My personal thoughts are he definitely wouldn't have done worse. Someone above moaned that he wouldn't work under a director of football, well his recruitment and the recruitment since has proved him right for me on that.

Either way I'm grateful for him that we didn't capitulate as a club and I wish him all the best, Clough certainly has burton playing better than us.

He accepted that burton's aim is survival and said derby would be at the top.

Strange that after 2 weeks in Greece and posting at 9:45 am you didnt realise the appropriate salutation at this time of the day is Kalimera, not Kali Sera (sic) nor even Kalispera which is good afternoon / evening. 😁😁

Otherwise fair assessment of the current parlous, disintegrating state of our beloved Club Ellie

Ohh! that made me laugh out loud Roger! Good to see that your "watching paint dry" skills have not shown any signs of diminishing...you are quite correct. Truth is day, morning, afternoon, evening and night all seemed to merge into one Roger..

Meanwhile, it gives me assurance that I'm not becoming a doom merchant when I see that your views concur with mine on the state of the NP footballing revolution that is unravelling at the iPro.
