While we are waiting for something mor interesting to come along:
anyone care to share their highest and lowest point as a Derby fan?
I'll share mine in my normal rambling style later, but meanwhile here are the dates:
From the dawn of time, high 8th May 1972 9:20pm, low 17th March 1984 4:45pm
Recently, high 22nd March 2014 4:25pm, low 24th May 2014 4:40pm
Anyone?
close - an annual lowpoint after leaving Forest's ground is that its only that crumbling acre of Nottingham, with its rusty built-for-midgets stand, quaint but badly hosted corporate lounge and ill-trained staff, that's stuck in the 70's, and that I haven't magically been transprted back to my late *****. Gets me every time.
High point - that play off semi win against Saints on penalties. ****ty day and drive back in torrential rains, but what a game of passion to have come out the victor.
Low point - last game of the following season, home loss 0 - 4 against also relegated Reading. I was recovering from major illness and made a massive effort to travel & see the game, hoping for a bit of pride to be played out as there was nothing to lose. Sadly, that is the only day I have ever hated our own players more than I thought possible.
High Point - The 4-1 home win over Brighton in the playoffs
Low Point - The loss at Wembley V QPR
Actually wanted to go back to being mid table cannon fodder under NC that QPR game, and the past 2 season have strengthened that feeling.
High point 5-0 thrashing of the dogs low point having to go to the cow shed
Since 2001 copy and paste for each year apart from 2007
Highest start of August
Lower end of the summer transfer window
Bit higher by Christmas
Lowest end of May
Beating Benfica 3-0, even though I'd only just arrived in Derby and wasn't a proper fan, Dean Saunders' debut against Wimbledon, beating Palace to go up, beating Forest 5-0, and Brighton in the play offs. All great memories in their own way.
Letting in two goals against Birmingham in the last two minutes under McClaren...just seemed to sum up the completion of the decline after all the optimism of 2013-14. That and Hull at home in last season's play offs...inexplicable as it was awful...and being robbed by Leicester at Wembley all those years ago.
Good thread...thanks.

So to put a bit of detail around mine
8th May 1972 I'd just heard on the BBC 9 o'clock news (yes it was 9 in those days that the results had gone Derby's way, and we were League Champions. I never felt better in all my teenage years apart from when I got a snog off Sonja Kristina at the Kings Hall after a Curved Air gig
17th March 1984 the Rams had just ended a nightmare week - the million mile round trip to Plymouth where Dave Watson confirmed for all time he was no centre forward, the disastrous replay on the wednesday when Argyle beat us with a goal straight from a corner, and then back to league action the following Saturday (17th) and one of the most inept performances in Rams history (think 70% as bad as the Hull match, yes THAT bad), we lost 3-0 and only Jaka Banovic played with any pride, saving shots with hands, feet and even that rubber cartoon face of his.
22nd March 2014, Craig Bryson had just completed his hat-trick against Forest and for the one and only time in my life I felt the need to kiss another man
24th May 2014, Well y'know....
Stick to Sonja Kristina Andy - definitely early years wan king material! I saw them at Uni but, despite being on organising committee I didnt get your sort of bonus.
