I think the argument you are making that teams don't need possession of the football is overstated. Liverpool's finishing was shocking in that game. Leicester made it work but most people agree opposition sides played into their hands by firing balls into two excellent CBs. They also had real quality on the break. Barcelona had vastly more possession in their game against Celtic and won 7:0.
