The council did rent some of it for offices and currently Boots Opticians and Farmfoods have shops there. If I remember correctly one of the Imperial's bars was called Telstar.
Remember attending my big cousin's wedding reception there as a page boy with full kilted outfit.
I was only about five years old at the time so don't remember much about the bars or the drink !!
Was the Imperial not originally owned by the Co-op ?
