Constantly repeating it still doesnt make it true, maybe thats how it works down Ibrox way, but in the real world, we stick to the truth and facts. The only thing anyone at Celtic FC knew was, as Billy McNeill called it, "an open secret" whereby everyone heard the rumours and knew why Jock Stein took the action he did. There was not one single person, which was brought out in the court proceedings, outwith the victims, who could provide concrete proof or evidence. There is no reason or rational discussion with an idiot like you. There were unsubstantiated rumours - enough for Stein to physically eject Torbett from CP but not enough to go to the police, especially when no-one had made any allegations about him.
Torbett was never employed by Celtic FC. No abuse ever took place at CP or at any establishment owned or run by Celtic FC.
This isn't rocket science. This is fact.

Why can't ye people try debate rationally without calling each other sub-human?

I find it very difficult to believe that all of the police were in a major conspiracy to cover up a crime - even covering up fellow officers' incompetence would be stretching things I think.

It's silly and/or disingenuous of wolf to try to claim that there were others guilty of criminal acts but that the courts and/or plod decided to cover things with Torbett up further - just as it doesn't ring true that plod deliberately covered up on that Neily guy at rfc.

The Celtic boys club stuff went through the courts nearly 20 years ago & no-one was found guilty of a cover up so I think it's time to let that one go, from what I've read about Neely, Rangers were informed that he'd made an inappropriate remark to a youth player, sacked him & the police were aware of the situation, I'm not sure what else they could've done in the circumstances.

Using this as a means to point scoring against rival Football clubs is absolutely pathetic however, this is the reason I mentioned that it might be better to close the thread on the first page, some posters should probably take a day or two off from the child abuse stuff.

AGIK, you seriously think police don't cover things up ffs. Facts are this was kept quiet for 20 years, meanwhile the huns have been accusing all and sundry of covering up abuse, we've even had one of them saying a football club put young players at risk by allowing a one-time offender to help with first-team coaching far away from any youth players. This whole thread is a points-scoring exercise, why should the huns not get some back.
