This is not Brin's joke night. It's remembering one of flat racing's greatest jockeys.

Looking at some of the great horses the choir boy rode. All Along- Ark, Lammtarra- Derby & of course Shergar.

Riley the 3rd Wonder if your getting names mixed up. Zafonic trained in France with Pat Eddery jockey was best winner I ever saw along with Frankel to win the 2,000 Guineas.

Not getting names mixed up Gwru. He rode Zilzal to victory 4 times did he not?

I'll always have a soft spot for Stoute and Swinburn. It goes back to my youth when as a 15 year old onwards I used to take bets for my Grandad to the bookies for him. 5 and 10p round robins. He was a great man and always backed Stoutes horses ridden by Swinburn. Great memories, hope my Dad who posts on here from time to time reads this thread. I'm sure it will bring back many happy memories for him too.

I can't remember Zilzal. Zafonic was 1st 2,000 guineas winner that struck me as being different class. I just remember the great horses both codes. Started with Brigadier Gerard, Mill Reef & then Red Rum.
