I thought Mook and Woland were brothers fae Hawick or Selkirk?

Terrible thing to happen to anyone going to or coming from a game. It's possible that the assailant didn't mean to cause as much harm as he did, but it's a bit like a defender sticking his leg out in the penalty box - you take the risk and anything can happen and have serious consequences.

Hopefully the injured guy makes a full recovery and this incident will act as a warning to others - it's football ffs. Don't attack innocent strangers.

He punched him in the face.

It would be more like a defender punching someone in the face in the penalty box.

No it wouldn't - the guy did something that frequently doesn't have such catastrophic (for both) consequences. A single punch - inexcusable I know but 9 times out of 10 the victim wouldn't have ended up so badly. That's the analogy I was using.

Tripping someone in the penalty box usually no intent to injure and so would be more analagous to the guy shoving him and the guy falling and hitting his head.

However he punched the guy in the face (apparently the punch was thrown from behind) and there is a definite attempt to cause harm of some level.

That's a shame, I was fully expecting Woland to be on here giving large about Rangers and thought something must be up.

At least the guy that did it is doing time for being such complete pr*ck.
