    ..ok, after tonight.......

    ...what's left of this season??

listening to fans in the pub after the match, Warne has to go, get a Manager in now to access the present squad. Identify new players for next season or we may do a "Donny", hope not....

TS has a lot to answer for in his appointments. We need some "know how " upstairs, maybe too late...

I think we came up a year too early, but looking at our attempts to stay in this league show lots of more nous was needed, still not got it now.....but UTM always.

I moseyed on down last night. Actually I don't think Rotherham played too badly, but it's those defensive frailties which reared their ugly heads once again. If the Millers do go down, then I wouldn't have too many worries about the Third. But on gaining promotion to the Championship again it will be the same old problem to contend with. Budget. TS has to seek more investment. It's the only cure to Rotherham's ills.

Trouble is he won't and to date has demonstrated he alone hasn't enough

Frankly, I don't think Wednesday's board would have sold out either had it not been for the High Court. It's about egos. TS has done very well for the Millers, but he is financially out of his depth at this level. Stubbs was a clanger, but with a £4-5 million budget any manager is swimming against the tide. There's a big difference between the Third and the Championship, and this Rotherham side will do well if the worst happens. I can't see them not bouncing back. But TS needs to be made to see that he can no longer soldier on alone. It makes no sense to plough a lone furrow, or all that has been achieved will be lost. I can't believe he doesn't know that.

I think an ego is well over rated and maybe TS finds it too hard to contemplate, suffering a knock to this.

Is a big budget the only way to do it though.
Obviously it helps immensely but have Barnsley actually spend that much more than us? Perhaps our neighbours who post on here might elaborate. Yes, they spent on Bradshaw but we bought Taylor and Vaulks.

They seem to target young players from the lower leagues and non league so i doubt whether they command large transfer fees or silly salaries. They then sell them on the cycle perpetuates.

Is Patrick Crine (spell??) wealthier then TS? Don't know. Even if he has got more money does he actually need to spend it or is the club just better organised and looking ahead all the time

Barnsley aren't exactly just surviving this season either

Barnsley have only recently got their act together, their owner is not that well off but they have sold 3 players to Premier League clubs in recent years, and 2 were from the academy which is much better than ours where hardly any players come through, that's the area where we need to improve really.
