Thread: Do our fans get amnesia when a player goes out on loan or is injured?

Do our fans get amnesia when a player goes out on loan or is injured?

All of a sudden Smallwood is the messiah!

It seems to me that our fans perceive improvement in mediocre player if they aren't in the team for a few weeks.

Smallwood is a cracking pro but if we take him back is it really going to improve things?

Was it Gary Neville who one said "the less I play the better I get"?

In terms of football....I always say...

    "The older I get - the better I was"...lol

And there are less old team mates ( each year unfortunately ) left alive to argue with me...

But Smallwood was excessively negative and Stubbs saw that quite soon - and other players that were out of favour and not up to the standard he wanted.

Youthful - talented - "footballers" were brought in to be nurtured.

Unfortunately - the core of the squad let us all down - and very unfortunately - TS panicked.

I would rather have AS in charge now - having a long term plan and a transfer window to fill the gaps he had identified than being rudderless - managed by the fitness coach.

Sadly - the social media had a large part to play in AS's demise and that simply should not be - because fan's can't see past results - performances and coaching techniques are lost on them - and the stupid things said about AS was astounding.

We'll I for one wished we'd stuck with
"Mr Personality" - because he would have made it work - as he did in Scotland.

That Scottish final was great football and what did Stubbs have when he joined the club - 3 - 4 - 5 pro's on their books.

Team building takes time....doesn't it ?

If we had a thread about cake baking you'd find a way of accrediting Stubbs with its composition.

Sooner have Vaulks than Smallwood. He's no slower + there's goals in him from midfield.

No we don't need captain crab back with his sideways sideways always sideways style.

I'll move on when we replace him with better.

Derbyshire scored an hat trick in 5 mins the other day, we haven't replaced him either

Agreed Millertop. Vaulks runs around like a headless chicken and usually gets there too late.
Smallwood alongside Frecks is a good pairing and we haven't seen it yet this season.

Well some people have clearly forgotten how well Smallwood played for Warnock alongside Frecks and Halford.
    Short memories indeed 😕
