So in summary most of the pro Brexit camp are anti scrounger whereas Mangara from the pro EU camp is more tolerant of benefit scroungers preferring their small crimes to the bigger ones of the well healed. Tweedleswale is conspicuously silent on the scrounger debate.
Im thinking EU nationals scrounging off our State Benefits must therefore be a huge bete noir to many (except Mangara who will be there at the Eurotunnel welcoming them off the train 😊😊😊![]()
He'll have to push Lilly Allen aside to do it, poor bloke.
I, by the way, am a remainer who is still very much anti scrounger and even more so anti uncontrolled immigration so we have all sorts
Yes Swale is missed, perhaps he's gone for a lie down after that incident where he appeared to be doing the forum equivalent of standing in the middle of a room and aiming punches at everyone, friend or foe. Get well soon Swale
Roger the Dodger...ever the mischief maker. You won't find anything at all that I've written suggesting that I support any form of 'scrounging', including 'EU nationals scrounging off our State Benefits'.
You may well find me being welcoming to refugees...suppose you'd just go into career mode and start counting them.
When did you become a 'Remainer' again then Andy? You've been an 'I voted Remain but now we've 'lost' I really can see the benefit of leaving so let's make a go of it' for the last six months. Wind of change suddenly blowing a little stronger?

I meant I voted remain. To me, a remainer is someone who voted remain and a remoaner is someone who voted remain and is in denial about it. That puts swale in exhalted company like Branson.
I was trolling round facebook the other night and saw a backlash thread relating to Branson funding some remoaner activity, where the backlash was to not buy anything he benefitted from. Someone wrote 'Boycott Branson Pickle' which I could not work out as being a joke or not.....
Why would anyone be 'in denial' about voting 'Remain'? More to the point, how does still making the case for 'Remain' and continuing to oppose Brexit, even after suffering the slenderest of 'defeats' in probably the most misunderstood vote of all time, constitute moaning?
As an apparently life long Tory - albeit of the more 'one nation' kind - can we assume that after Wilson/Callaghan/Blair's election victories you suddenly started supporting Labour? Surely those of us who still believe the Brexit vote to be a huge mistake and the idea of May and Trump getting into 'bed' together - pardon the imagery - an even bigger one are right to continue to resist.
[QUOTE=ramAnag;38411093]You're missing the point entirely. Take away wealth and social standing and everyone starts equal. A natural leader will come to the fore, it doesn't matter about his wealth or upbringing, a genuine benefit claimant will work as hard as anyone given an equal chance, but my point is that a scrounger, no matter what the circumstances, will expect everything for nothing.
Ah, I see someone has discovered how to start altering 'quotes' (#1914/1915). A dangerous precedent and a last resort methinks.
