I seem to remember him saying it was his goal to build a new stadium that would ultimately be owned by RUFC and that he wanted the club to own its ground and generate enough income to be self supporting.

Hope I wasn't just dreaming. If this is/was TS's intention, then I hope the ungrateful moaner's that are hurling their abuse towards the man who saved our great club don't end up making him think "wtf ..... why bother? Maybe i will just keep the returns and profits for myself"

Maybe, just maybe, TS genuinely has/had magnanimous intentions.

Regardless I would hate to see him jack it in because of a bunch of people that want to kick him in the teeth and stab him in the back for his efforts
Rotherham United Football Club don't own the New York Stadium.

They are sitting tenants paying rent to Tony Stewarts property company.

We are in no different position now than we were at Millmoor when we were paying rent to the Booths.

Therefore if the Stewart family did decide to sell the club on but retain ownership of the property company we could find ourselves back in a position of a landlord demanding an unsustainable rent.

Can't say I blame Mr Stewart for protecting his investment in this way and in a business way it makes a lot of sense to keep the main assets NYS, Guest & Chrimes site and training ground, separate from the Club as they can't then come into the equation should the club get in financial difficulties.

I'm totally grateful what Tony Stewart has done for the club, I just wish he'd be more realistic in the statements he makes and accept that for us to be successful in the Championship, which we all know is one of the big boys leagues, he needs additional investment and support to make us competitive.

So basically your biggest gripe a123 is he said we're aiming for mid table in the Championship?

I suppose he could have said, reyt get yersens off for yer season tickets everone, we're going for 4th from the bottom.

I'm not certain but I reckon he would have got some stick had he said that.

How you can mention TS & KB in the same breath and liken the 2 situations is beyond me. Just because we got screwed back then doesn't mean we would with TS.

He's been called a liar a bull****ter a lightbulb king and the rest.

It's like an old boys club on here where you all sit round patting each other on the back telling each other I've been watching the millers 30 years so I'm right about us and the bloke who saved us is wrong,

Every time he says anything it's the same Ones criticising him.

Nobody can answer my question why weren't you all moaning about him last year or the year before or the year before that??

It won't happen but if he did walk away and we went bust because of the fans moaning the same ones would sit there and say knowt to do with me I'm a loyal supporter of 30 years.

Let's see everyone get behind the team tomorrow.

I won't hold my breath but some will be on after though to moan as usual.

I understand why people stop posting on here.
But then the boys club will say it's nothing to do with me we're the lifeblood of this site.

    Depressing on here with some.

Yak there were plenty discussing and not liking the merry go round of the Evans years when, was it 90 players or so came in and out. You were not a contributor to MM then. Plenty wondered why the L1 Wembley team were dismantled arguing that you had the backbone of a decent Championship team. Plenty loved Warnock and were disappointed we didn't get him over the line, had positive views over Redfearn, buying into the policy of youth. I even wanted top buy into Stubbs and defended him for a while until it was so obvious that he couldn't do the job and more importantly, the disastrous job he did in bringing in poor quality signings which have hampered the club since. I believe Kenny Jacket was the right man and for me unlike others he didn't quit lightly and the job in hand with the resources available made his position untenable. His fault as he didn't research the club enough before taking on the job. Someone has to take responsibility for all of that and we as a club need to know what we are doing going forward. TS did undertake a project and if you (Riley) think he did it for the love of RUFC then you are simply wrong. He does not appear to have the accumulated wealth to do that so rightfully so, it was a project and TS will not lose on his project. Prime land in a prime location on which the club pays a handsome rent to a property company owned by the family I believe. If RUFC goes bust, I believe he will be fine.

I don't think anyone on here is moaning about any of that are they?

People are just offering opinion on how they believe TS has engineered things and resided over the collapse of the club. On the other hand you and the "gang" - the other gang, seem to believe anything you read in the Rotherham Advertiser now and simply accept his statement about the £35 million of personal wealth he has said he has put into the club. Some of us who have looked at the accounts (compared to those that can't be bothered) are saying there is no evidence that we can see in those accounts to support his claim. We are not saying he is lying we are saying there is no evidence to support the claim.

If TS told you it's safe to jump of a cliff, would you jump off it because he told you so? Nothing wrong in examining what he says. He has a reputation now for bulling things up, making over zealous statements and going awol. Just because he comes out eventually and makes an ill prepared appearance on Radio Deedar and a press statement to a local rag doesn't make him a saviour again.

Enjoy the match which ever gang you are in. Personally I am in no gang and barely know a couple on MM.

Yak….easy on fella….my reply was aimed at CAMiller as he was making out Tony Stewart was the be all and end all of RUFC…

Of course I acknowledge him stepping in like he did and providing modern day stadium facilities to the folk of Rotherham….who wouldn't be grateful of that but he didn't do it for the love of the club he saw a new business venture much like Donald trump would and went in for the big buy….had he got enough money he'd have bought Sheff Weds make no bones about that!

No millionaire does anything for the love of it….it's a business venture and the achievements along the way i.e. Promotion/Wembley visits are add ons…..of course I'm grateful for what he's done but even TS will sell up when he's had enough….

I know he's made mistakes but surely he deserves time to put this right??

The constant sniping at him is tedious and embarrassing.

Has he made a couple of silly statements ? yes he has.

Is he devoid of criticism?? Nope.

Is he the right man to take us forward? YES

AS soon as any thread gets put up with his name in it's all the same he's a liar and the rest.

He's come out this week and made statements, interviews and stuff.

But still nope that's not enough is it?

I'm not deluded I can read between the lines about statements but you know what looking at the bigger picture he's done s cracking job and imo he will get us back up stronger this time.

He saved the club and still now has the best intentions for us millers.

Totally agree with everything you've put but CAMiller rubbed me up the wrong way (no jokes please) making it sound like we as fans have had f.eck all to do with keeping the club alive…..without our hard earned cash there would be no RUFC never mind the stewart family… no fans means no investment from anyone..

Apologies if anyone feels I've had a dig at Tony and his family I have not….and it's not like me to feel aggrieved at CAM either but his statement got me riled….

    Enough on this now…UTM!

Brin think TS has been backed into a corner and is just fighting his way out, some of the stuff posted on here is just guesswork and some is insulting and disgusting behavoir. One bad season is certainly bringing out the worst in some people, even some very loyal fans have turned very negative, surely its not too much to ask to give the Chairman some respect and certainly not accuse him of unsubstantiated twaddle.
