I do not think that we will go straight back up. As dmentor says we usually go down two levels from the 2nd tier. However, at this moment in time with no permanent manager, restructuring required and some middle to big clubs likely to be in league 1, I would settle for a season of consolidation irrespective of what TS says. Clearly the players not good enough for the championship have something to prove and get some experience on their shoulders. Retention, release and additions will be key to what happens.
