No idea why that's there twice. All I did was a very small edit.
Why is he an 'egotistical tool'? He doesn't seem to desire or demand a particularly high profile. One obvious example apart there's no evidence of him wanting to interfere on a daily basis. If that was the case why has he spent so much money on trying to get the right manager? He's probably spending millions as we speak on the severance pay of McClaren, Clement, Pearson and Co. Criticise him all you want for making poor appointments, there's ample evidence of that. Criticise those around him for providing poor advice...ample evidence of that too, but an 'egotistical tool' and 'cretinous fans'...unfair on both counts imo.

If that is what Toggles is referring to as an egotistical tool then maybe he is?
This is the second time a post has disappeared on this site.
I said, I do think our owner is full of his own self importance.
Thank God for a grown up exchange. I'm not sure he is OTR. We've got a history of ego driven owners...Longston, Maxwell and his 'look at me' helicopter arrivals, Gadsby strolling across Pride Park like the coming Messiah...even dear old Lionel wasn't totally immune. In comparison Morris seems relatively low profile to me. I know he's made some bad appointments but I suspect he doesn't actually enjoy the whole hiring and firing routine - which must be costing him a fortune - that's thrust him into the limelight far too often, but he has invested more in Derby than the other four put together and, for me, his 'appearances' are driven more by desperation than 'ego'.
He's made some poor appointments, with hindsight, but at the time of these appointments, I can't remember a massive disagreement with any of them.
I think his problem is that he is too much of a fan and sometimes it needs somebody a bit less passionate, to look at the clubs situation. I think most of us thrust into his position, would have made similar, well intentioned decisions.
There's no simple answer to getting success, remember all of the other clubs are trying to achieve the same thing, the only time we can all be equal top of the table, is before the opening kick off.
Gary Rowett just needs to control the players and do his own thing and only let Mel, know when he wants things changing here and there. Rowett needs to take full responsibility as he is the leader at the end of the day. Mel just needs to watch and see what happens, only take necessary precautions if he really needs to.
