I think closeness is an issue. He worked with most of them in a different relationship as fitness coach where he was their pal.

Maybe different players will have to see him as the 'gaffer'?

I am not sure he has the tactical edge for it but if he is appointed, I'd at least let him see what he could do before having a go. Would prefer someone experienced but at the same time, another Jackett situation could ensue so who knows?

Well, I gave PD both barrels for this and have no regrets. I have praised some of his stuff in the past but have also said imo he sometimes takes a far too rosy view of the club's management. I also note that on another site every poster bar one agreed with my view of the article and several expressed themselves just as strongly as I did, perhaps more so.

As a stand alone article you ( gm ) could have been the author.....yes it's that bad !

PD has shown his true colours and that's the biggest mistake a writer can do.

They seek to "influence" the non committed as the "committed" folk are already just that - ie; committed. But by sitting more or less on the fence - when a big issue arises "the writer" can state his feelings one way or the other as a person of the "centre" - the writer wants his piece read as written by a discerning individual.

We'll PD has set his stall out and we can all see what he's selling.....just wish I could get some for my roses !
