    No player should be 'safe' after this appalling season. But good to hear it from the manager's lips.

    Unfortunately they are "safe" in that they have contracts. They may not get in the team but we've had that scenario before. If they can't get a better deal they may well be prepared to sit tight and take the cash, playing or not.

    Good to hear it indeed.
    But actions speak louder than words so we'll soon be able to judge what Warne is made of.
    I'm absolutely certain that Blackstock isn't his sort of player but I seriously doubt if he'll be able to move him on.
    The end of the season can't come quickly enough and I await details of the retained list with bated breath.

    Have we got contacts with any clubs in China, Japan, Canada, Australia, etc? They will probably have heard of Blackstock, and may still be under the mistaken belief that he is a star player. Got to be worth a try for off-loading?
