She's called the election in the hope that she can get a larger majority to drive through the brexit she wants. At the moment she only has a small majority so a few bitter remainer back benches can spoil the party.

A Tory landslide will result in a hard brexit with no pampering to the EU.

    Go Tezza.

Or alternatively so she can ignore her Eurosceptic backbenchers and go for a softer Brexit, remember she is a Remainer/ neo-lib/ globalist, need to keep an eye on her.

Funnily enough the best chance of getting a hard brexit is if Labour do better than expected and keep the majority down. In those circumstances May will have to listen to the right of her party. If she has a 150 majority thats the last you will see of Fox and Davis having anything to do with negotiations and Boris will be put back in his cage.

Its obvious they are going to try to bull whip us for daring to vote to leave and they will attempt to use UK as an example to the rest of the EU club - the EU is on the verge of falling apart if truth be-known , Greece ,Spain and Portugal are in deep debt again and will suffer further austerity cuts and that will tip other countries into following the UK put of the EU if they have guts to do it ! The frogs are in dep financial trouble ,that's why so many have supported Le Penn , the Italians are verging on bankruptcy and the Germans are fed up of supporting the runts of the litter in southern Europe . What started as an ideal of having single market but hten they politicised i

A currency union including the Northern & Southern European countries was never going to work, do we really want to be run by people as dumb as that?

Diane Abbott is the new club finance manager.

I never said cliff edge and the phrase hard brexit has been used by almost every poster on this subject.
I suspect after the election May will have a large majority and will not have to pander to the right of her party. As I said, I would imagine that Fox and Davis will be history and Boris will be demoted. In their place will be less eurosceptic ministers who will dial down the rhetoric. Reaching a quick agreement on EU citizens living here and British citizens living in the EU should be a priority to show goodwill later on down the line.

May has already stated in her article 50 triggering letter that she is pursuing a hard brexit. We are coming out of the single market in order to control our borders.

She requires the larger majority in order to deliver on this.

Standard tactics by May . Akin to a poker strategy . Wipe out the Labour seats leaving them with only there strong holds left probably around 120 .(Or put a big bet in get rid of the beggars as we say in poker) Play the strong hand and win the pot with her massive hand (majority) Win win for her and the Tories . I want out of the sess pit of the EU but do i trust her. Reminds me of Thatcher in certain ways .Uncertain times weather what side of the fence you sit on
