A lot of the pictures for Steelo`s can be subject to Copyright rules so I`m not sure how you would download them.
You can apply to the people that have the Copyright and they usually give access if it`s for a good reason.
thank you - yes, not for commercial gain at all so should be OK

Bridgegate. Happy memories of catching the number 70 Templeborough bus in the mid 1960s when I started my apprenticeship at Steelos.
Rotherham had a proper town centre in those days with some decent pubs as well.
Also Park Vale Drive in Thrybergh where I spent my early childhood.

Thanks for that LM, Charlie Browns postal address is Chemist Lane but I guess there is nothing left from the days I lived there. RUFC used to own half a dozen houses on Holland St. which joined Chemist Lane and most were used by first team players of the time, Quairney and Noble I remember!

Slightly off thread but my favourite place as a kid was the " Clough" I remember accessing it off Clough Rd and being able to get to Greasboro on the "war path" . I never did come accross the "3rd nail" unfortunately . Does it still exist or has it been developed? Thats the Clough, not the 3rd nail!

Thank you Casper. Some great buildings still left in Rotherham but a lot have been pulled down. The amount of people in Rotherham was mind blowing compaired to today. When they stopped cars going through the town and then busses it was doomed. Parkgate retail World and Meadow Hall have just been nails in the coffin.

Thankfully now High Street is looking better than it has for years which will pull people in but a massive boost was when the RMBC gave planning permission on the practically free land to Rotherham United.

Loved the photos! Again thanks Casper

Did you attend the training centre at the end of the very welcoming....

    "Dead mans Hole Lane"

Started my apprenticeship there when apprenticeships were apprenticeships.

    Left hand screwdriver anyone ?

Has to be Bridgegate. In particular the doorway of the Blyth Dairies shop where my girlfriend and I used to snog before going to catch our last busses. (She's now my wife of 51 years)

Indeed I did. The lane is still there I think but I don't know if it's still got the same name.
