    and being able to change mid-game if needed which we have proved tactically or physically unable to do recently. the 90s promotion team had that

    I think promoted teams need like 10-15 1nil wins. A lot more graft than craft.

    Indeed, scoring late goals to win or draw rather than throwing away winning positions, being adaptable and having a tactically aware manager and a team that is hard to beat!

    I don’t think style of football has a lot to do with effectiveness. It’s just what I prefer to watch.

    Most of the best sides that went up, did well and stayed up played attractive football. I’m thinking Southampton, Bournemouth, Swansea, Watford (to a degree). Then there’s your stoke’s and burnley’s who did it a different way. There’s more than one way to skin a cat.
