Still required with utmost urgency are replacements for Hayes, McGinn and Taylor otherwise we are starting way behind last seasons squad. Not so much Taylor but he was a mainstay in our defence which was mostly pretty solid.
    Underwhelming........
Guess that just shows the difference in opinions.

Stewart was twice nominated for Player of the Year and had a far better scoring rate than Hayes 32 to 10 having played slightly fewer games.

Wright will cover for McGinn. At 19 he will be inconsistent (as was McGinn), but he showed the potential in the Partick Thistle game when he stepped in for McGinn.

Christie, far better return than Pawlett

Jack, replaced by Tansey, arguably will provide more bite, and better deliveries from set pieces

Taylor, likely replaced by O'Connor (unless we get another CH in)

Lewis - Extended for another 2 years. A fantastic deal for the club.

Were looking very good having dealt with a number of changes.

Given that its not yet July and we still have room / scope to bring in a few more, were doing pretty well I think

As I said underwhelming. Christie and Wright were both here last season so are hardly additions to the squad. I do hope Wright fulfils his potential but given DM's track record I won't be holding out much hope that he will be given a fair crack of the whip. Mostly against the tims because Christie can't play which is a scary prospect when we consider how well we know Jonny can rip a defence apart. Never seen Stewart do that.

    Time will tell I guess.

I am not questioning Stewart's ability as he was a standout player in a rank Dundee team but is he as good as Jonny which we really need him to be? And then if he is we still have the issue of sourcing a longer term replacement.

We need guys in of the quality of Maloney or May when they were playing well to replace what has been lost but we can't afford that and although we might end up with said players they are more of a gamble now due to age and injuries.

On top of it all we really need some competition for Rooney up front as he was not his usual predatory self last season and Stockley is not a feasible option.

I can't really understand why McGinn gets labelled as inconsistent, some people seem to think he was brilliant in his first season but it wasn't like he was controlling games. He was playing up front instead of out wide and scored more goals but his general play was the same.

People also forget that Hayes wasn't that great in his first season and was inconsistent in large parts of his time here, the 2nd half of last season was probably his best spell here and by what McInnes was saying today he was trying to impress his current manager.

When you look at their stats Hayes got 30 goals in 207 games and McGinn got 68 in 223 so I would say Hayes was the more inconsistent in his time here.

    Think we're doing okay
At least it's looking like quality as opposed to quantity
And also it's still early days as DM is quoting there will be more signings before 7th July

We need a few extra bodies on top of the new faces who are the replacements. We weren't blessed with the biggest of squads and it shows come the end of the season. So as we all strive for quality we do need quantity too

Early days, we need a major CB, we have cssh to splash lets use it.

Joe Lewis contract extension is a massive, massive plus for the club

If we can get May in as well, would be very happy.

We still have a few gaps at under 21 to fill as well so I expect we might do a bit of buying down that avenue
