Do we really want to sign a guy who's got injury problems and who we don't have an obvious place in the team for at present anyway? I'm referring to Maloney here. May is not much different, except there's probably more risk with him in that we'd be paying a pretty hefty fee by our standards. Got a feeling May might potentially end up with us on loan for 6 months or a year rather than permanently now that Alex Neil is at Preston. We do need a different option from Rooney (poacher) and Stockley (target man) for up front though - someone a bit more mobile who can get in behind. I wonder if O'Hallaron is still a possibility? Not a great fan of his but provides something different.
I never saw the first leg so I'll take your word for that.
My concern would be the lack of options.
We're a centre half short and a wide player short at least, as well as a striker.
Also, Rooney is the only striker - Stockley is suspended, and Story, well you'd be better than him
Stewart is half fit by all accounts, but likelihood is that the two players that will be wide in the 4-2-3-1 would be Christie & a half fit Stewart. Wright is injured and might not have kicked a ball by that game either.
Your confidence is good, but bear in mind we scraped by a sh1te Fola Esch and were a post away from an away goals humiliation this time last year.
