    Never in a million years!

By reiterating history incorrectly never changes history. I balance this reiteration by stating my view of what happened. An alternative history based on my views and research.

I was there and saw what happened and I read others "accounts" - that ultimately form accusations of wrongdoings that are ( in my opinion ) unfounded and lack depth of treatment.

That's it really.....if you can't stand debate or argument that differs from your own views you probably shouldn't have joined the debating team.

I disagree with many on this board thank goodness yet never does it cross my mind to ban - ignore - swear or threaten in any way anyone's views.

Everyone has a view - and when I see views I disagree with I offer my own to strike a balance.

So - repetitiveness is wholesale on MM and I doubt if I've ever initiated a subject without a stimulus !

That stimulus ( predominantly ) being our demise from the championship - that grieves me dearly.

There are many mitigating circumstances that brought us to the point of relegation - going back several seasons in my opinion. Yet these mitigating circumstances are generally overlooked superceded by benal statements that frankly don't "add up".

    As for :

"goes on to tell us all we're all thick and know nothing"

    Sorry simply not true.

But if one history (a generic your history) is retold and retold - unchallenged then the earth would indeed still be flat !

It ain't flat....! What's more I "respect" other posters by adding research I've found and accumulated over the years to underpin my posts - something others simply do not do !

The Dexter wages is a typical example.

The wage negotiations were undertaken under extreme time pressure - not doubt by DB's agents and PD - under close scrutiny by TS. The value of the contract has never been definitely valued and even if it attained the 10k ( less 40% now ) then a report placed that 10k figure at the very bottom of the championship pay structure. And we might have had one player ( past tense ) on that minimum !

The "adiquate" budget was blown by no one - only frugal and quite well thought out purchases were made to buy budget players to play "a certain way" Because an "adiquate championship" budget never existed.

Old old news but even now with adiquate time to read and absorb all the facts - let alone reading between the lines / lies whichever version you prefer - the same unsubstantiated accusations are regurgitated as facts when evidence suggests otherwise.

    lbj, I have two observations:

You are missing the point. This thread posed a simple question about whether we should consolidate and grow in League 1 or look for a quick return regardless. It invited opinions on this choice. There were nine initial replies that did this. Your post #11 was - yet again - an attempt to talk about Alan Stubbs and the great mistake everybody made by chasing him out of the club - management and fans alike. There was a tenuous link to the thread by saying that the building process was supposed to have begun at the beginning of last season - but it is obvious for all to see that you simply wanted to climb on to the soap box - yet again - and talk about your favourite subject and the rest of the post was completely off topic.

You strenuously deny that you think people on here are thick and know nothing. Yet in post 42 you say "The RUBBISH spouted on these boards is brain-numbingly repetitive" and in post 50, when talking about TS, "....while you write so much crap about him and his family and all things Rotherham United." Both comments were aimed at the board in general and not individuals. Your posts in earlier threads are littered with similar comments.

In an effort to get you to focus on what people are saying, can you reply to two direct questions, please:

In terms of my first observation, do you not see that your post 11 will be regarded by pretty much everybody as an attempt to take the thread of topic and that, since you have done it many times before, it is irritating and frustrating to the majority on here?

In terms of my second observation, do you not see that you are ignoring the reality and actually doing what you strenuously deny?

I personally don't support banning you. I say these things because - perhaps optimistically - I think you could make a useful contribution if you changed your focus. However, if you choose not to, then I wouldn't be surprised if you were removed.

    1st point / 2nd point

The "building process" set out at length by TS was well documented and even reiterated on radio. And the best people found to do this job ( in my opinion )

My post concentrated on the OP and that's my standard procedure ! We are a small football club with few isolated subjects - so - NOT cross referencing to the sub - topics is difficult - they affect each part of the club

But two "rebuilding projects" have been neutered now - both because the initial results proved to be less than championship form.

But that's "collateral damage" for embryonic football regimes. Ask any football commentators / pundits. And being a football forum this shouldn't even be an issue.

We all crave changes but the majority believe they know better than top professionals YET strangely I respect the opinions of "EXPERTS".

The worrying part as a Rotherham fan is how can any truly reforming regime rebuild if they are not allowed time to do it.

An oversimplification but it's like sacking a builder for creating dust when they are adding an extension to your property.

The problems built into last season were obvious and very damaging to any rebuilding project. But amazingly - progress was made ( in my opinion ) and Rafa's high praise of our performance was testemony to that progress.

That is just football common sense BUT all my posts are common sense - based on football history. Documented stories of sacking managers prematurely - and how this doesn't work.

Now whoever made you "CT" the invigilator of this board I don't know but you should do some back reading of some of the posts and perhaps have an
invigilators open mind regarding your mates attitude to open and free debate and basic football rights and wrongs...

As I say old news but others keep stating their opinions as facts that I don't agree with.... I guess that's what you are doing now except you appear to be attacking me personally rather than the subject matter.

So if you are simply disagreeing with me fine - let's read your arguments but that makes you the same as me so what's the problem.

As for the what is "rubbish" on this site is purely subjective...are you saying my posts are "rubbish" ?

Well there you go then....have a nice day !

Worrever you think lbs Stubbsy has gone...he is in the past....i happen to think we will do better this season with warney at the helm and, dare i say it, think we would have done better last season if warney had been at the helm from the start. He will play the rotherham united way. That is the ONLY way RUFC can play given the size of our club and support. It will never get us to the premier league granted but as we have seen it can get us to play with some of the big boys on hard times now and again. I and I suspect a lot of other Millers fans would accept that.

We are in League ONE Roly....where we spent your formative years and we'll play high octane - to me - to you ( us to opposition and back ) football which is the "Rotherham way" and if you like that you'll be a happy bunny this year!

Pointless talking about last year if you think PW did anything but disastrously!

Technically redundant and steered us to league one without a fight !

Burton showed the way with many ugly points - with low 30's % possession but points. Now even if AS had time to drill the team to play that way - I don't think Tony liked watching it: And like many he didn't understand it !

We are "entertainers" - he said - well a club of our size can't "entertain" and stay in the championship - so we made a commitment to play league one football this year - with PW managing 6' foot plus forwards. Lot's off them.

I was entertained at the Huddersfield and Newcastle games and we were robbed by poor referee's decisions at both.

It's football - but the championship was awesome to be involved with - our budget only gave us one chance - and that one chance wasn't given time to work!
    ( Again ! )

After EVO gatecrashed into the championship I fear we now know our place in the football world and in budgetary terms we'll stay where we are for a long time. At least while we develop a squad ourselves like Barnsley did then tweek that squad with a bit of quality to give ourselves a chance. That's the dream now.

Replacements for half a squad killed us last year - and at championship level at what ? million pounds per player ( lol ) we couldn't afford it and even multi-million pounds players don't guarantee success - ask Villa fans......

what if your wrong lbj? if warne gets us promoted this season what would be the reason for that?
is it the players stubbs bought or is it all down to warne? same as if warne fails this season. is it because of the squad he was left was a poor backbone or is it all down to what he has done, the players he brought in?

I disagree I think we will get to the premier league one day. It may take awhile to build a squad but history shows it is possible look at Huddersfield ,Bournemouth, Blackpool all have been in premiership. Yes most don't last long and go back down but it don't mean little clubs can't get there.

I'm not saying we will be in premiership in two years but it is possible to get there eventually. Who knows in 5-20 years we may have a championship trophy a fa cup trophy and a Europa trophy.

    Never say never

    WTF?
It's not just his obsession with Stubbs. It's not just his superior attitude (he regularly calls the rest of us idiots, just like on here). It's not just his long, rambling, repetitive posts. It's also that most of his posts contain utter, incoherent B0llocks. Just like you have highlighted here. He just drones on and on and on, making little sense. The forum is littered with nonsensical statements within his posts. His wife must have the patience of a saint.

I can imaging CT sat looking at his computer with a puzzled look on his face whilst reading the response from lbj. After reading the post 3 or 4 times trying to understand it he'll have put his head in his hands wondering why he bothered putting the questions to him.

He may have taken to drink
