Initially I was for walking away from this deal, but seeing as we actually have more money than we can spend, and especially as it's Boro, I'm hoping we go for it. Paying a few million more is irrelevant in our financial situation, just need a bit of creative accounting to accommodate him in our wage budget, and it's a good signing for us and a bloody nose for Boro. And it surely ensures Andre gets the move he desires. Win-Win-Win, what's not to like ?
I know it could only be paper talk but I don't like the phrase in that article "with the Premier League club prepared to match whatever Boro offer".
The things that make me believe we'll get him:
Dyche knows Britt.
Warburton is Dyche's mate.
And Britt wants Premier League status now and not another maybe.
If we assume that they're equally likely to succeed, if we have both there's double the chance that we'll end up with at least one proven goalscorer. And if they both succeed, happy days!
I know many have written Gray off, but I think he has a lot to offer.
"I know many have written Gray off, but I think he has a lot to offer."
So do I, however, we do not know just what his mindset is after his summer break.
Was talking to Beneboy on the phone in the early hours and we both said the same.
Gray is "not one of us" in that he's not a team person, his manner and the company he likes to keep seemingly shows he likes the limelight, I remember when he first came here he sat in the Bob Lord with his "mates" slouched in the seats with legs over the seats in front of them, chastised by the Club, Dyche and rightly so.
His history with his tweets and even after that still twittering away.
Some (as said by posters above) feel he has something to offer with his Football, IMO I don't think he's good enough.
He's not a fish and chips man, he'd surely feel at home with West Ham having Pie and Liquor.
I saw virtually every Burnley game in the Championship winning season and Gray was totally exceptional.
He set off like a house on fire last season with bagful's of goals in friendlies and of course scored that belter against Liverpool.
Then came the FA!
I don't think he recovered psychologically from the Twitter ban. Personally I would love him to sign a new extended contract, get Assombalonga on board and watch us go!

Here was me thinking that it was Jellied Eels![]()
