There are positive signs but let's not get carried away, we're starting from the lowest base imaginable, in all aspects, so anything other than an improving situation would have been disastrous. Yes, there are reasons for optimism alongside the anticipation any new season brings but this falls well short of excitement, especially for those of us that have been in this situation countless times and been let down once the first competitive whistle blows.
