    Notts interested in Forests Lacovitti

Apparently looking at a loan move for the centre back, Alex Lacovitti.

Forest Green also showing interest. Spent time at Mansfield last season.

    Thoughts?

    No.

Nothing against Alex, who may well become a good player at this level or maybe above, but what we need is two dominant, mature, proven centre-halves much like Mansfield have signed with Mirfin and Diamond.

It's ironic that we've re-signed players well over 30 in forward positions where we really need younger legs with a bit of pace, but in the one area where experience really is critical we've not signed anyone.

We were unlucky not to get Jake Buxton, because Burton were able to tempt him with the chance to stay at Championship level, but he's very much the type of player we need, not a relative novice like Iacovitti.

Notts need a big commanding ball winning centre half with experience, not a 19 year old kid from florest

Colin Foster was a good loan signing from Forest many years ago. That type of player!

An up and coming 19 year old might be a good signing if we can get an experienced player in as well. At the moment, we only have two specialist central defenders and really we need four to provide cover for injuries and suspensions. So if he's any good, I wouldn't be opposed to Notts signing this lad.

Would Forest be happy with that though? He'd be on loan to play, if they wanted him sitting on the bench, he'd be with them still surely? I don't think he is the player coming in though. Do you do medicals on loan players? If they get injured, you just send them back don't you?
