Colin Foster was a good loan signing from Forest many years ago. That type of player!

An up and coming 19 year old might be a good signing if we can get an experienced player in as well. At the moment, we only have two specialist central defenders and really we need four to provide cover for injuries and suspensions. So if he's any good, I wouldn't be opposed to Notts signing this lad.

Mansfield sent him home early from his loan spell last year. That doesn't bode well.

On 1 January 2017, Mansfield Town confirmed that Iacovitti would be returning to Forest early from his loan spell. Mansfield manager Steve Evans, who had replaced Murray in November, cited the reason as a lack of playing time

Of course, that's Wikipedia and we're not allowed to cite facts in any post.

It's close to the start of the season as long as we dont have to pay any wages and given there is nowt else doing centre half wise we have no choice but to sign him up.

As a squad player to give a bit of experience to, yes. But he is not a solution to a problem we've had for 5 years.

I just don't think we can fill the CB role with a loan player because it's too much to ask of a youngster.

I'm not suggesting he's the answer long term but we have no cover. What happens when one of the current two are suspended or injured. It will happen. We need cover he's possibly the answer for that. He's not the long term solution obviously.

Downside is he isn't 6 feet, so probably isn't the imposing centre half we need. Upside is that he's meant to be quick, which we desperately need. Other upside is that he isn't Duffy or Hollis. If we get him AND a physically imposing centre half as well, I'll be happy.

    Exactly!

A centre half is needed but not him.
