On the flip side I think there's great value out there, especially in the lower leagues. Gareth McCauley cost us nothing, Dawson cost us £500k from Rochdale. John Stones cost Everton £200k from Barnsley, Joe Hart cost Man City £500k from Shrewsbury. Harry Kane cost Spurs nothing. Mahrez cost Leicester £400k. Coutinho cost Liverpool £8m and they're talking about selling him for £120m.

There are gems out there, they just need to be found.
Agreed 123, they are out there. The question is, are they easy to spot or not, in terms of knowing in advance if they will prosper and bloom, or not?

Yeh i am sure he was over the moon losing £4m on the last day of the season after being eighth for virtually all 2017 up til that point. It was actually harder to finish 10th than 8th.

I agree that should not have happened. That said 4 million is peanuts in the grand scheme of things - and the huge profit no doubt the club made. Taking Olsson and Fletcher off the payrole itself will have lightened this 4 million you mention and in any way you dress this up - will be lighter than any costs that have come in. Factor in - the Sky TV money will be the highest this year ever seen.

So Mr Lai - a big thank you for feck all in the way of additional quality and for sure - the small bottle of lager from you at a total cost of 10 grand ( if that ) will go down really well! If we lose on Saturday - back to fish and chips as a Saturday night chinky will be banned!

10th, a fantastic achievment, 8th, would have been even more fantastic. Where you finish is a result of the overall season results, your last comment defies logic therefore.

It'll cost more than 10K with those prices down the Hawthorns Al', a LOT more .

Can't normally abide Carling but I won't be looking a gift horse in the mouth.

    £3.90 is £3.90.

Not a fan of Rekorderlig either but at £4.20 a 'pop' I might just give it a go .

Pity Ben Foster had that rush of blood to the head away to Burnley.

Difference being those outside the club aren't watching the dire spectacle we do nearly every match.

Exactly. Which is why their comments should be ignored. Especially those who only watch highlights. Bit like watching a trailer for a movie then writing a full review of the film.
