If he's had head turned by securing his future and also playing some part in the PL this season and we get 20M then think its everyone's interest.
Offering him an improved contract will end up increasing the overall wage structure and possibly unsettle others, Pontus and co agents will quite rightly start getting in their ears. We still have time to sign decent players, even on loan till January.

I can't see him shining in the PL but fair fecks to him if he thinks he can give it a go.

Think we might play a different style, with maybe two attackers. It would probably make recruitment easier, when you have one up front any potential signing knows he will be doing a fair bit of bench warming
