He WAS, very good, quick and with an eye for goal, tore us apart when Brentford were promoted.

He's 33 though so time will tell Aya, if he's kept himself fit he'll be a good addition, and he's been playing fairly regularly with Brum so he should be ok.

I hope you're right Ace the Donaldson of 4 years ago would have been perfect but he'd become a bit part player at Brum. Plus I doubt he's cost much.

When Tufty gets hold of him he'll probably convert into a Klinsmann over night. The opposite seems to happen at S6. It's a good job Carlos isn't Doctor Who. His tardis would be the size of the Taj Mahal, but inside it would be like a broom cupboard.

I appear to be in the minority, but I'm delighted we didn't sign Cole

Brooks didn't get flogged then - which is the big positive from today.

So this past week two young defenders and a wily veteran striker have come in. Could have been a lot worse. Don't know anything about the defenders but Donaldson even in his advanced years is a step up in quality from Clarke. Would have liked a pacey young striker on the bench though to stretch out the game when Billy and Donaldson are spent.

Clough getting Brayford for nowt leaves a sour taste, I'd love to take six points off em to send the buggers down.

So, in the end we got what we expected from deadline day, but not necessarily who we expected. A youngish defender and an older attacker. The one outgoing was expected and we didn't lose anyone who we wanted to keep.
I think the incomings were not necessarily first choices, but it would be foolish to pass judgement before they've played a good few games for us. I know that it is a case of in CW we trust, but as he is the first to admit, not all his signings will turn out to be brilliant. However, on the evidence of last year, the present coaching regime does have a decent record of improving the players we have.
We do appear to have strenthened the squad during the summer transfer window and even in the period after the start of the season.

Time will tell, but as the wise man said "We are not going to be spunkin moneh".

It is going to be an interesting season.

Central defender will be interesting, could turn out decent,
size and a bit of pace, Donaldson is probably 3rd or 4th choice and I dont think offers a lot, we still need pace wide and up front. That being said we have enough to finish comfortably mid table and we wont have spent a lot so should have money left for Jamuary.

Sorry LST, but we got 10 deals over the line. This is real life, not football manager, if you think this is 'same owd' then I don't think you understand what you're looking at. CW made it plain what type of player he was after and he's bought a bus-full. I think Tufty has had a fantastic window and the club should be applauded for backing him.

Now we have a striker in albeit short term I believe it has been a very good window. We have cover in all areas of the pitch perhaps with the exception of centre mid, bit worried if Fleck or Coutts get injured , Lundstrom will have to improve. Biggest plus no one has nicked Brooks off us. 9/10 window for me.
