I'm just waiting for the fallout Richue to get a 3 match ban and a ban for Merino for simulation even though the defender pulled him back by his arm.

The rules say that if you put another player in danger,it does not have to be deliberate, both Manes and Ritchies could have been reds.Ritchie received a yellow so no retrospective action will be taken.
Merino will not be done for diving as no advantage was gained. If we had got a penalty and video evidence later showed it to be simulation then he would have got a two match ban.
Diame could have got a red for his tackle if the ref had seen it.

    Do away with it.
A goalkeeper command his area and that's it.

Yes but in that case the keeper can use his hands to catch or punch the ball away and failing that would leave no doubt about a sending off for Mane.

If anything ( and I know how this will not go down too well) I think the keeper should have been sent off for stopping a goalscoring opportunity by clattering Mane by going in like a bull in a Chine shop.

Like I mentioned earlier, it was the injury that changed the entire mindset of the ref.

According to a former top referee both were sendings off under today's rules which say you can't put another player in danger with a high foot with studs showing.A scissor or bicycle kick is only allowed if you don't endanger another player. It doesnt matter if there is an injury or not.

To be fair, in his post match interview, Ritchie said he was lucky to only have seen yellow.

    it was the right decision
he couldnt head it as he was to far away so lunged at it knowing the keeper would use his head .
if he thought the keeper wasnt there as people say he didnt look for him then why not wait for the ball to come down

it was high and late and dangerous studs up

ritchie was lucky that the ref didnt see his as a red card

Ederson back in training with eight stitches in the wound and now wearing a head guard. He's a lucky lad as a couple of inches in a different direction and that kick could have taken his head off.
