Tha seen a very promising team sold off within months and not said a peep abart it and the end result of that is Patrick getting £20 million for the club when it was on offer for a £1 million ( his words apparantly ) , you could argue that club assets are now in a private bank account .

Both PC and Lee are venture capitalists , only difference is one was from Wombwell and the other from Beijing .
Thaz conveniently forgotten Barnsley Council will get a fair chunk of the £20 million.
What happened to the £100 million tha sed we'd get ? They're already playing down expectations on the size of the player budget.

In the Chronicle they are quoted as saying they are not going to throw money at the club and look to us being a stable Championship club.

They are paying £20 million for Patrick's stake , 98.5% according to the Sheffield Star

SB , when you were wondering why they had chosen us to purchase I attempted to explain why that possibly was and how they could perhaps make money , I was speculating as I'm not part of Mr Lee's inner circle .

They have played down their investment plans right from the moment the takeover story broke and with Billy Beane onboard and his history you should be encouraged by that .

They clearly see a way to make the club succesful using it's current model but possibly funding better contracts and try and build a challenging team without the fire sales .

Billy Beane is the strongest clue you can have that the current model will remain .

These new owners have absolutely no intention of selling land off for private enterprise as their reason to purchase the club , where does Billie Beane fit into that scenario .

I still maintain their profit from owning BFC will come because of its success as a football club competing at a high level in the championship or PL and from exposure to TV audiences worldwide .

My initial numbers on their investment are maybe way way over the top , they may only need to put £40 to £50 million in to secure a handsome return on that through their core business .

The game's changed SB , we are where we are , local football club owners at this level are suffering the same fate as local shop owners , can't compete anymore and the big boys have moved in .

As ESR's suggested as foreign investment goes this is as good as we could have expected .

There is no alternative deal anywhere else .

And you believe they don't want to see us in the most viewed league in the world worth 170 million quid a season ?

The Championship is growing I don't dispute that but it will always be a very poor second to the PL for investors .

they cannot build houses on the land the land can only be developed for leisure facilities so i suppose a casino could be built alongside a hotel

I see it as a no brainer SBred. Patrick Cryne's illness is terminal. The Cryne family may not want to get their fingers burnt. This isn't just an alternative. It's the only alternative. What would you rather? Patrick Cryne die n' we go bust?

It's one of the biggest things to happen in the clubs history so it's bound to cause debate .

Plenty of other massive games to come , fingers crossed mate .

I wouldn't be against that to be honest just as long as the present footballing structure remains in place .
