Poland and Hungary have always been 'no more immigrants' and the predictions on here were of Holland, France, Austria, Italy and Germany to be swept away by a right wing populist wave of revolution on the back of Trump and Brexit, bringing down the EU.

Those predictions were embarrassingly inaccurate. All that happened was that the vast majority of people took one look at Trump and Brexit and said 'no thanks '.

As I said before I'm glad that these results have happened in the small measure they did. It means it's no longer taboo to talk about immigration and the well intentioned but fundamentally flawed immigration policy of the last few years can't continue. That's how democracy works: you don't necessarily have to win elections to make a difference.

Make no mistake though, your revolution is over already. Trump and brexit was the high water mark.
