The relative recent success is in spite of, not becauseof, the owner.

Rod, whilst your eternal optimism and love of the Blades shines through, your short termist view, clinging to the recent success and praising it maniacally to the hilt, renders your point of view unbalanced and lacking in objectivity.

We are ALL delighted by CW's influence, enthusiasm, desire and results which are in sharp contrast to the last decade and, maybe the paucity of those times ( except for the odd cup run), is what emphasises that.

To bang on about the appointment as though McC has discovered and unwound the key to the mysteries of the universe is plainly at odds with all the evidence.
TT i aint clingin on to owt mi owd,i'm enjoyin the football and results we're gettin,it's you who bangs on abart the past rather than enjoy the present. My point of view is perfectly balanced i suggest it's your views on King Kev that are unbalanced as you refuse to give credit when it's due but as always each to their own.Soon be time for a couple of pre match pints,We're on the march wi Wilders army. Rod, GB's post , number 66, sums it up perfectly IMHO.

If we are discussing McC's reign, and we are, then you cannot just cherry pick the last couple of seasons, you have to look at the whole period.

That is why I say, and re-iterate, the fact that your view lacks balance in that context.

You’ve probably gathered that I no longer get involved much with the ‘to me to you’ mega threads Rod because I think life’s too short mate, but what I will say is that ultimately, the success or failure of a business lies at the feet of those at the very top.

Back in the day when I had a proper job, it wouldn’t make a jot of difference if I personally made a string of bad appointments or decisions or it was down to my direct reports or the managers and supervisors at levels below them. If the part of the business that I was responsible for wasn’t competitive and successful, I’d have got 2 maybe 3 years tops before the axe would have fallen on me mate end of story. You can’t just keep on blaming it on the staff below you or on bad luck because as the old adage says, you make your own luck. I’m looking forward to today, time for my pre-match fry up. UTB
