Just thought this was interesting, again we had very low possession but again had most shots, shots on target and most corners.

Does this show that Rafa's counter-attacking style works for us?

It's a good away tactic but I feel at home we need a more adventurous tactic, depending on the opposition.

We currently have the 4th lowest possession stats (40.8%) over the season so far, and 3rd lowest for home games (38%). We actually have more possession away from home than at home (43.5%)!

And yet we are still dragging the points in and getting results despite what the doom and gloom merchants bleat about.

Seeing as we´ve only played two of the top sides so far, I´d expect this possession stat to fall more by the end of the season.................do I care?

Yeah, it wasn't a criticism on my behalf, merely interesting to note. Rafa's favoured playstyle is cautious, refined and relies on intelligent counterattacking - obviously I'd love it if we had the players to play beautiful football like we did under Keegan and win stuff, but realistically we are outgunned and Rafa has assembled a team who can punch above their weight due to his system. It seems a lot of folk don't want that or can't understand it, but it's what wins matches, and ultimately that is what's important, whatever people say about preferring to play pretty football and lose rather than win playing boring football.
