Just playing in our own half, giving them the ball and seeing if we can hold on for 89.5 minutes
Appears to be grab an early goal and be comprehensively outplayed for the rest of the half....maybe game. Its been poor, so much so that Im going to do some laundry instead

Will 2 -0 be enough to hold. I told all my Forest mates I'd cut my ***** if they kept a clean sheet.
My manhood was safe from the first kick of the game.
Second half we played higher, more on the front foot and in the end it was more comfortable but the result obscured some tactical naivety in first half. Still ggood to see Thorne unscathed and tidy in controlling things
I'd agree with your assessment overall. The same old problems were rearing their head in the first half. There was a cavernous gap between our front 4 and the rest of the team leading to many hopeful, but pointless long balls being punted directly back into Forest's possession. On the whole we kept a decent shape and should be commended on a good second half display. 5-0 aside, I'm not sure I've ever felt more relaxed defending a lead against Forest than I did in the 2nd half.
What I, as a totally tactically naive fan, don't understand, is that our defence clearly don't have the skill to retain the ball whilst playing this tippy-tappy across the back line passing stuff (there was one example yesterday where about 20 such passes resulted in Forest getting the ball and nearly getting in), yet successive managers have either encouraged it or failed to prevent it. Its only attractive when a team can make the 21st such pass an incisive on that turns defence into attack, we can't. It wasn't just boring to watch that yesterday, it was embarrassing, knowing that after a certin number of passes we would **** up.
Totally agree. It seemed to improve in the second half - and I thought both Wisdom and Keogh were excellent yesterday - but that first half 'pass it backwards and sideways across the the back' was infuriating. So inevitable that we'd give it away and invite self inflicted pressure.
I think he got it right. Forest were always dangerous going forward, and I felt that we needed to keep men behind the ball or they'd get the better of us.
Right game plan, right result.
Whether this is the approach for all games or not is of course another question.
I was also happy with most of the team's performance too. Vydra was instrumental and looks a different player in that role. Only negatives for me were Forsyth's passing, and Huddleston's slowness.
I though Lawrence was really sloppy in his play. However, his two late in the game free kicks were real class
Agree on his free kicks. He has deffo got 'something', maybe his involvement in the international break had some effect. Fingers crossed, he could be special!!
