Im glad Hopkin name finally being mentioned. Done a great job at Livingston and i think would make a difference.. Was at Livi united game and i would take Lithgow at the back as well..

Don't think ST is 'casting' around as you suggest LSA, it would appear as soon as a vacancy arises in football that there is not the traditional advertising of the post, rather applicants through their agents, will contact the club and register a note of interest. And most likely the same agent will contact a newspaper and let them know, this then generates the publicity to get people talking about 'their man'. This could have dual purpose, as it could prompt the applicants current club to think about offering more money to keep the manager. It all becomes a wee bit of a circus! As I said before, we have seen this coming and Would hope ST did as well, he must have had a preferred candidate in mind.

Aye, there's plenty to bash the chairman about. Leaking names of candidates to the press won't be one of them.

Rather than telling us that there’s been over 50 applicants I’d prefer to be told how many and even the names on the short list.

Why one earth would we make something as confidential as naming the candidates public? These candidates will still be in jobs. It would be highly disrespectful to be making public that kind of information just cos some fans feel its their right to know.

ST isnt casting these names around no way. Jesus the club are interviewing, talking and doing the right thing IMO. But yes he musthave a preferred candidate in mind however if applicants have come from left field they have to be explored. Hopkin I would have but didnt think he would apply, livi wouldnt let go and at best compo was involved so would rule him out.

Interesting and good that names are cropping up.
