The experience part yes probably that is correct as the remit is to go up this season and i think the gig will be until end of season initially. Would you class stubbs as experienced?
Hmm, not particularly no. Experienced at a higher level than say Hopkin/Aitken etc though, with managing Hibs & possibly having a more solid background due to his time at Everton. Granted he didn't get them promotion but how much of that was down to his cup runs and extra games? Like u say, we just don't know on the rumours. Word is that Hughes, McIntyre & Laszlo have all been interviewed but who knows. Billy Reid is another interesting name for me. Good success at Clyde & Hamilton and now having an excellent time in Sweden, albeit as no.2. He seems to know how to build a club from the foundations with a sold structure about it. Look at the players he brought through at Hamilton. Mccarthy, McCarthur and latterly Alex Neil who's gone on to become a very good manager. Reid and Laszlo would be the 2 most interesting names for me

Agree but loads on here went nuts at Reids name - which i cannot understand. Rumour in west coast is Reid is being sounded as assistant to Mcinness for Rankers job. So thats probably that. Also press rumours seem to suggest Hughes hasnt been interviewed and that happens Monday with other 2 mentioned. Problem with Laszlo he seems to pimp every job going

I dont know why i dont fancy Stubbs. I may have let Hughes Raith experience cloud my thoughts on him - but why not - Brechin FFS!

U think McInnies would ditch Docherty for Reid? I'm not so sure. Some are touting Reid for the main gig but that definitely won't happen. Hughes is a defo no for me. I've said b4, the only real success he's had is at ICT, but that seems to be a job that everyone has success at. It just seems to be one of these clubs.

Haha yeah i remember saying it was like watching Airdrie from the 90s when they came to Tannadice.

The Reid thing seems to have blown over. Yeah i thought he had too. He must be favourite to get the gig? Any worries about the raith thing or is that just an experience to make him hungrier.

Regardless of what manager just hope it gets a bounce. I think with the squad and an addition of one or two with more physical presence an average manager must be able to challenge for the title

I think a lot of the issues surrounding Raith was his own attitude. He's never one to shy away from slating his own players and they simply didn't respond to it and in the end, renaged against the manager. He shattered their own confidence & self belief by the sounds of it. He is another of these total football managers but if he doesn't have the players for it, then he needs to adapt but he doesn't.

Give it another month or so and Tommy Wright may just become available. 4 defeats in 5 without scoring a single goal.

The one thing we need in our manager is adaptability - none of this largs p!sh playing systems and total football against hammer throwers and without the players to do so. Fast, direct, willing to battle and less fannying about with side passes in own half against Brechin at home would be nice
