However if you look at an identical push on Barnes at 3 mins you might feel we were shafted. Mason was nowhere near he’s over on the left 35 yards out
The ref should always be on the opposite side of the box to the liner, so Mason was correctly placed for both incidents. The trick is, if you're going to push someone in the box, do it on the liner's side, the ref is more likely to have his view obstructed, and the liner less likely to give it as he'll be looking for offside.
