Then, instead of ranting about Trump, why don't you and your fellow lefties call out the left wing politician who instigated moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem, enshrined the move in US law even ? Surely he must also qualify as a dangerous lunatic, or does being a lefty automatically absolve him from any culpability for this move ?

Sinkov, a bit more background here. http://time.com/5049019/jerusalem-embassy-history/

I am no apologist for Bill Clinton, but it is without doubt that he did his best to bring peace and a resolution to the problems in the area.

In fact, he came very close to pulling it off during his tenure.

I think that Trump's agenda is totally different.

Thanks for that 59/60, it explains why the move has been delayed, which I knew about, but the only explanation it proffers for why this move was put into law by Clinton's administration in 1995 in the first place, was to buy votes at the forthcoming US election.

This is appalling, and just underlines further my utter derision for all those criticising Trump. The Democrats were prepared to put at risk the security of the Middle East, as they acknowledged by their delaying of the move, in order to buy votes !!!

FFS, just remind me again, who is the dangerous lunatic here, Trump or Clinton, or both ? Trump's reasoning isn't clear to me, possibly he thinks delaying the move for 22 years has been futile, the security situation hasn't got any better and we're still nowhere near a settlement. so force everyone to accept the reality of the Israeli state and deal with that. Maybe he has other reasons, maybe he's a clown who hasn't a clue what he's doing. I don't know, but I do know he hasn't done it in order to buy votes. So on this I can only say that the criticism of Trump may well be justified, but if anyone is putting the boot into Trump, while ignoring the reason this was put on the statute book by the Democrats in the first place, or more likely aren't even concerned about the reason, then in my book they're fecking hypocrites.

And as I'm certain that you most certainly are not, perhaps you will concur with me when I attempt to point out that this situation demands a little more thought and analysis than simply the knee-jerk criticism and condemnation Trump is receiving over it.

Like you Sinkov, I don't understand the history of the 1995 decision.

But Clinton was very active in trying to bring the two sides to a settlement. He was also very involved in the Good Friday Agreement. I am aware that the Republicans had a majority in the Senate in 1995, perhaps they instigated it? I don't know.

I have seen enough of Trump in action to reach my conclusions about the stature of the man. I saw enough of Clinton to realise that he was flawed, but I would trust him more with my beer money than Trump.

To be honest Sinkov, would you trust either of them with your wife/daughter/mother?
