    Targets for January

What do we think we should go for-realistically.

One decent performance against West Ham doesn't change the dire situation we're in and our most pressing need is a goalscorer. Joselu, for all his hard work and flick-ons, etc isn't one and Gayle-despite what his song says - misses too many chances. Mitro will be gone in Jan. Hopefully Rafa has a 'Merino-like' signing lined up for a main striker.

LB is still a problem-Dummett will be back shortly and, for all the hard work and discipline he shows, he's a weak link (albeit one who seems to have become a much better player the longer his absence has lasted).

Also (or instead of a LB, depending on funds), a defensive midfielder who can do the job better than, well...Hayden.

    Thoughts.

We desperately need a striker who is likely to get 10+ goals (Mitro will go) and as you say LB and probably a central midfielder. I think we'll get a keeper as well.

Diame, Colback and Darlow will go out.

Diame and Colback can both fuck off but I'm sad it hasn't worked out for Darlow (if he goes)

(Depending on funds) I think he will go all out for a striker and a number 10, simply because they are our weakest positions, both in strength and depth.

Oh. Forgot to say. Choices are limited in the January transfer window, so Ings and Tom Carney.

Slimani would be an amazing signing for us.

we are in desperate need of a keeper.

I don't think he will strengthen the defence at all. (if Dummett is fit).

we need a ball winner in midfield to allow (either) Shelvey or Merino to play. Hayden is still a little bit short of being that man. Diame, saivet and colback aren't going to help much either.

I think we are ok on the wings, but we need a whole new forward line as Gayle is THE ONLY decent option we have.

I think we'll go for an experienced keeper - be it on loan on or bought (I also think it'll be one with prem experience rather than just an older "experienced" keeper).

I think we'll go for a striker - i could see that being Ings.

I think we'll go for a midfielder, who can help support Merino, Shelvey with Hayden as the supporting act.

I also think we'll get Kenedy on loan.
