He's been let down badly by his senior players and the players selected for him to Captain.

On TMS,they were on about a bowler Frank Tyson,who Richie Benaud said was the fastest he had ever faced,so I have been reading up on him today,although he was a Lancastrian he does seem to be just exactly the type of bowler we need in this team

That's exactly it Bully, the wham bam stuff has superceded the need to build an innings and learn how to bowl with guile and skill to winkle out a batsman.Not playing proper championship cricket at the height of the summer also adds to the problem- no flat wickets for bowlers to learn on, no spinners develop wicket taking skills.

It's a vicious circle, cricket needs the money to support the counties so we play blocks of T20/one day stuff at the height of the season yet cry when the England team falter in tests when the home game does not develop the relevant skills.

As for the proposed city franchise T20 I would not cross the road to watch Manchester Red Sox v Leeds limelights or Sh!t cricketers v Even more sh!t cricketers.
