    I'm very envious Sinkov.

Last time me and Mrs 59-60 spent a few nights away it was in a yurt.

    It sounded idyllic.

"Wake up in the morning in the breathtaking Lakeland outdoors. Stroll down through the woods to the crystal clear mountain stream. Forget about the 100MPH lifestyle of the city and unwind in total peace"

We froze our b0llocks off - even Mrs 59-60.

1971, we'd been married a year, we went camping just outside Oban, idyllic could have described the setting and views there. Second day the rain set in, proper Scottish rain, and it rained, and rained, and rained, and rained some more. In the end we packed up and came home, Mrs S said she would never set foot in a tent again, ever. And when Mrs S. says something, she means it.

sinkov --I think that your missus must know my missus. Similar experience in Germany in 1968 with the same result --it has to be a hotel or a ship or nothing

Yep, just the same Ss6, I once mentioned the south of France, spotless camp sites, guaranteed sunshine. Not a chance, hotel, ship, great, anything else, forget it.

My second wife's mantra was "Unless it has the word Hotel followed by 5 stars, forget it!" We divorced after three years.
