    Is it UEFA guidelines that clubs in the group stages of the Europa league are required to have a Tier 4 stadium?

    Does Pittodrie have a Tier 4 status?

    Could Pittodrie be redeveloped at a lower nett cost, with a similar capacity that meets the UEFA Guidelines than moving to Kingsford?
    Just to add further info.
    I understand Pittodrie is classed as a Tier 3 stadium

    These are the regulations for the 2017/18 Europa League
    https://www.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles...2_DOWNLOAD.pdf

    Article 27.01
    27.01 Unless stipulated otherwise in these regulations, matches in the competition must
    be played in a stadium which meets the structural criteria of the following
    categories as defined in the UEFA Stadium Infrastructure Regulations:
    a. category 2 for the first and second qualifying rounds;
    b. category 3 for the third qualifying round and play-offs;
    c. category 4 from the group stage to the semi-finals
    So wee ok till the play-offs, but the group stages we would not meet the regulations.

    Doesn't represent Aberdeen for me. I'm sure it won't be passed but if they ever did move to there I'd lose interest.

    Agree with most of this except the most important bit.

    I'm sure it will be passed.

    It's why they pulled the original application, to give them more time to stitch it up.

    I hope I'm wrong though, it would be a disaster for the club.

    So where does the having to play in Dundee bit come in?

    No and I can't tell you an exact figure but many, including the top, clubs don't comply with all of the category 4 rules, from pitch size to parking spaces.

    What's the net cost of redeveloping Pittodrie compared to Kingsford? Would be helpful if the club explained this themselves.

    Surely they would just make up a number that would be higher than the Kingsford development , if that's what the agenda is?

    I thought that too until I read the nks emails yesterday, where the heid planner told the club in 2016 it was unimaginable they'd be able to support a stadium there but could support the training facilities. The chair of the meeting today, and a guy next to them explaining an issue to a councillor, were from the sdpa. They're very strongly against it and the tone of the guy's language in the hearing was clear. Planners will recommend refusal at this stage.

    I'm not sure as others have pointed out, its unlikely the two Dundee clubs meet the criteria.
    However Dundee are also looking to build a new stadium, so potentially they are assuming that the closest ground that would meet the requirements may be the new Dundee ground (if that gets approved and built).

    Indeed, this is a different and very valid question.

    Can dispensation be achieved to play games that do not comply with the regulations?
    Is there are deadline that UEFA are applying for any potential dispensations?

    It does not detract from answering the claims that the club is telling lies, when it is clearly in the guidelines of the requirements if we were to reach our target of playing in the group stages of the Europa League

    Yes they do appear to be making up all figures that suit, from the economic impact on town, to how much would need to be loaned to build at Kingsford meaning it's the only affordable option.
