If you are on a NHS waiting list

Phone up make sure you on it. My Doctor in August 2017 put me in to see a consultant with regards my toes. Haven't heard anything back from Sandwell hospital. So i rang them today, it's on record that my doctor did put the request in, but state which was my problem was. So the hospital didn't know who he wanted to see, a heart consultant, stomach or anything.
So now i've got go back to GP to put a new request in , another 6 months waiting list. i told Sandwell this is unfair, they are going to phone me back tomorrow.
If i've got to wait 6 months, i'll chop them off myself. Bolt croppers or axe, have goggle diy toe amputation.

I know the NHS is getting some bad press at the moment. But it is not all bad. I decided to go for an operation in the summer in the that expectation that I would still be waiting now. I had the pre-app meeting and then surprise surprise a couple of days later I received the cancellation letter. In a cynical frame of mind I called them to rebook. To my amazement they said could I come in in a couple of weeks. Things went well and my only moan was the seemingly undue haste with which they booted me out afterwards but consdidering the bed shortage I suppose this was understandable. I have heard a lot of justifiable moans and complaints and have experienced some frustration myself. Recently I suppose I was in the right place at the right time in not having any significant wait but I can only speak positively of everybody there.

Last Friday a friend of mine fell down the stairs and shattered his wrist. I drove him up to Sandwell A & E at 6.30pm Friday evening and to be fair to them he was assessed, x rayed and put in plaster by 8.45pm. But he then had to have another x ray to see that the bones were correctly set. They were not. He was told he would need an operation to have a plate and pins inserted. They said they could leave it up to 7 days in necessary before the op would have to be done. They then deliberated as to whether to send him home in plaster and recall him to do the op or admit him there and then. They admitted him. Today after 5 nights occupying a bed they have once again told him his op will not be done today. That will make at least 6 nights he has spent in a bed desperately needed for far more serious cases. I am afraid it is shambolic organisation and I feel so sorry for the nurses and doctors who give their all day after day.

Successive govt are making it shambolic. By not supporting the country's diamond in this dungheap there is no real escuse not to,we all know the workers pay for it the govt has no money of its own only what it can purlion and deflect away from the NHS to support the absurd overseas project

Been really tempted and i wouldn't be the ist , someone did it December and after the doctor agreed it saved his leg as the the toes had turned to gangerine.
Sorry for a bit of a rant yesterday, i always had nothing but praise for the NHS. Butt from experence, if you are on a waiting list under Labour you do get seen in half the time.
Now for my waiting time. The Temp i spoke to yesterday said she would get the lady in charge to ring me in the morning. Didn't get a call back, so i've rang them. Lovely lady really helpfull, told me that the temp did leave her note to ring me.
She has got to the bottom of it. In late August and September, they took on a lot of agency staff to deal with these ist apointments including mine. Most of these wasn't prosessed. So if the doctor has put you in to see a consultant check if has gone through.
She then told me to asked GP to resend a copy of the e-mail request , which they have now done. They have now taken in my waiting time and will have an appointment within 2 weeks.
