Leeds this month signed a talented young'un Oliver Å*arkić who is a Montenegrin U21 professional footballer who played for Benficas ranks.Hopefully like Alioski from Macedonia he'll also do well so there are obviously gems to be found in the Balklans - an area that Leeds now scout in ........... for the record.

To add an insight to anyone interested in what is happening 'football wise' in that part of the world feel free to read on.

The resurgence in Balkan teams at national level has also reignited the Balkan League debate. Bosnia & Herzegovina made their World Cup debut at the last tournament and also managed to reach the playoff stage for Euro 2016, as did Slovenia. Croatia and Albania went one better and qualified for the tournament.

Putting the security questions to one side such a League could be possible by the league’s exposure to television (hence my visit). As the league increases its popularity across the region it could also spread to Western Europe too. The Balkans has huge expatriate communities in Germany and Switzerland also the UK whom would likely take an interest. As BT Sport and Sky try to grab as many European leagues as possible in their quest for dominance of the UK airwaves, there could be a market for a Balkan League there too.Plenty of positives but alas negatives as there is also the presence of ultra political groups such as Dinamo Zagreb’s Bad Blue Boys and Red Star’s Delije, who need no excuse to renew hostilities over history and politics.Similar issues with Serbian and Croatian clubs too who've always been closely tied politically in their respective countries too. As community organisations all the Serbian clubs are theoretically speaking owned by the fans who have their voice in the club through the election of representatives in a club assembly. The assembly then elects a President who later on appoints the rest of the Board.

So a Balkan Super League would make sense as it would ensure greater competition within the top division and also keeps a widespread representation of countries within the top tier and entry to CL exposure. There would be greater interest from fans across a wider area, increase the league’s competitiveness and also maintain the commitment of TV companies and the opportunity for players to showcase skills which in turn would create new avenues of opportunity for such clubs like Leeds to maximise on recruitment wise - as I stated above the Radz has invested in the Balkan areas which suggests our owner long term is subtlety covering clever options developing following all leads available.................

    "Rudely attacked....."?

Jees you must have an incredibly thin skin for someone who is involved in the stuff you write about on here if you consider what I replied with as a rude attack.

I say again, as I did in the post that contained that rude attack, that I don't give a rat's arse for the Balkans, months fact (so it seems) that our owner is spending money there (other than the possibility that he might spend more on Leeds if he didnt).

One paragraph in the post above referred somewhat tangentially to Leeds, the rest refers to Balkan suoernleagues etc etc, which is about as relevant to LS11 as who is going to the next Super Bowl, (although I'm pleased as punch that the Pats are in that number).

This is a Leeds board, where most if not all posts should surely have a major component about them that relates to Leeds?

I may be the most unpopular contributor, but at least I try to stick primarily, almost exclusively, to matters related to Leeds.

And believe me, if I wanted to be rude, you would know it.

I think they ought to be a healthy medium mate and not get too serious......keep things light. I'm sure each and everyone of us on here if we ever meet up would enjoy each other's company over a pint or two. For the likes of me, a good place to drop in and find out all things LUFC from fans lucky enough to get to games etc.
Be cool mate, life's too short.

It's a pity you don't know much about Leeds matters, nor have the humility to admit when you are completely ignorant of the fcts or just plain wrong... remind me...we were signing a player to go out on loan recently (completely unfounded shyte news you were happy to jump on, and then come out with AR is worse than the Camel Jockeys we had as owners... you really are a fkn ****

And just what the f00k has that got to do with ANYTHING on this thread, apart from the fact you're replying to one of my posts?

Perhaps you, or Mrs O, or SOMEBODY would kindly offer an explanation as to why the VAST majority of Leeds supporters should care about Mrs Os delving into the Balkans, other than to provide us with fascinating insights into how our owner seeks to invest there, cos he sure as hell isn't investing f00k all in the Leeds 1st team ( or maybe you know different?).

Btw, at what point have I suggested Radrizzani is a worse owner than GFH?

WTF11 - self proclaimed leader of Leeds Inteligencia ............

If you take the time to digest the facts written within my Balkans comments you may wish to ponder on my role and referral to 'TV rights' ......... and consider whom may benefit from such media rights, whom may benefit that has already secured clubs media rights to sell and finally whom would benefit by owning such media rights ...........

Mmmm, maybe an organisation that successfully owns 90% of World media events rights could be an ideal starting point and obviously any connecting parties to such a company would obviously benefit too.

Even maybe better for a city like Leeds which is a leader now within the digital hub sector to benefit too from future possible employment opportunities should finance come their way via football via a very savvy individuals five year plan backed by a forward thinking local council.

Of course - as you've stated WTF do I know about such matters.
