Im not saying his tenure has been the best, but christ it could have been much worse. When see what has happened to Oldco, Hearts, Dundee Utd, Motherwell, Dundee, etc you have to be thankful that we didnt end up like that. He has held his position for over 20 years, so why you think he will just f*ck this up and it wall be a disaster for the club, im confused by. The "get behind it" crew are fully aware that this is going ahead regardless of what happens now.

With 75% behind it, he is going to pursue this. It doesnt matter a jot if Mason etc say we are "sleepwalking" into this. I think thats very naive and disrespectful to those of us who agree with the idea. Its not perfect, but its not the disaster its being made out to be by some.

Lets' face it, there was never going to be a 100% support for this, so we can debate the "what if's" all day, but nothing is going to change when the majority of people are behind it, including the fans, club and council.

You’re using the Mark McGhee argument in defence of Milne there. We could’ve very easily ended up like Hibs. Hearts & the PJMs. It wasn’t his stewardship that helped keep us up. That was what put us there in the first place.

There’s an almost endless list of things he’s completely bungled. They’re not worth repeating as everyone will know them but you’re putting plenty of faith in him getting this right.

    This plan is ***n nuts

If there was any common sense put into the transport side of this new stadium it would have been placed next to a train line with a separate "stadium" station. Of course the cost of building a station just for a stadium in this neck of the woods wouldn't even be on the radar. I remember coming out of the san siro a couple years ago and it took less than half an hour from my seat in the stadium to a pub in the centre of Milan, takes me double that time to even get from pittodrie back to dyce on a match day. I'm sure someone on here said ages ago that some toon in Germany let's fans travel for free on a match day as long as they show their match ticket? Some scheme like that should be set up to run from Union street etc. for this new stadium.
They have the same here match day ticket (different sports mind you) includes public transport encouraged by the local government to keep the traffic off the roads. Of course the weather helps but unless there's buy in from the city centre pubs etc. I can see the transport issue being problematic for some. I am desperately trying to stay neutral for geographical reasons but the level of reason, planning, marketing and promotion do seem a bit 'corner shoppie'.

Ok, answer me this then, to what benefit does Stewart Milne and the club get from moving to Kingsford, if you believe it to be such a disaster? Why move and why spend millions building a new stadium, if the result of this is going to be to the detriment of the club. This is the bit I cant get my head around about the No campaign. By all means, those who don’t want it built on their doorstep I can have sympathy for, but those who don’t want it purely based on their own feelings I cant fathom.

If you say he cant be trusted based on his past showings, then I understand that, but I cant for the life of me get why he, the entire club, most of the fans, the council etc can all think this is a good idea, but the select few think it will sink us. There are those within the club who have made feasibility studies, explored the financing and the repayment options and should therefore know better than those of us on a forum, with little to go on other than the fact they think Milne is a c*nt. If it is going to end up sinking the club, then why do it? That part makes zero sense to me.

I don't think I've been disrespectful to the yes campaign, other than a couple of throwaway comments. Nothing compared to the top red pish that gets spouted and those that have decided to just ignore any questions that haven't been answered adequately.

As for Milne, I don't really think that's the bar we should be setting. Just because he's not run the club into admin doesn't mean he's been good. Actually, the fact the competition has imploded should mean he should have more to show. He was also bailed out financially. Otherwise we would still have a significant debt.

He's also, by his own admission, run Pittodrie into the ground where's it's become some sort of death trap.

Then there's the issue with his love of Sevco. He is quite happy to see us drift further away from ever winning the league again.

I don't believe he wants to move us to run the club into the ground. I just don't trust him over it due to the aforementioned points.

As a club, this is the most significant bit of our modern era existence out with 1983. So therefore, even those that are for it should not be saying "it's not perfect..." imo.

Milne has been completely fixed on his vision of what Aberdeen FC should be for two decades. He's spent millions and millions chasing it, putting off training facilities and looking after or redeveloping Pittodrie until he's got it.

    1. BELLFIELD FARM, KINGSWELLS, ABERDEEN - CREATION OF A
REGIONAL CENTRE FOR SPORTING AND LEISURE EXCELLENCE
    INCORPORATING FOOTBALL STADIUM, ETC.

    https://www.afc.co.uk/2018/01/29/afc...ning-decision/

Aberdeen FC chairman, Stewart Milne, said:

"After 17 years, we are one step closer to a new home that will allow us to meet our vision and ambition for Aberdeen Football Club, our city and our region."

There's not really any need to say anymore. But he's always wanted to take the club out of the city and make it a regional club with his vision of co-located training facilities (soccer academy in Milnespeak). He's done that to the detriment of the club for 20 years so far.

As for why fans think it's a good idea, well... no Kingsford being something to oppose - folk have been absolutely obsessed with opposing the nimbys, a massive PR spend, threats and being lead on.

Going to and from a HOME game might take as long as 6 or 7 hours if you leave home at noon to avoid the buses full of swollen-bladdered pinters and the worst of the A944 congestion, stand around for an hour and a half observing the NIMBY house orices plummet (GIRFUY), take in the game, queue for a bus back, travel into town, wait for a bus to the ‘burbs and make that final journey.

I’ve said before, I’ll buy one season ticket, and see how this predicted transport farce treats me. I’ll be 63 or 64 by the time the place opens, too ****ing old to deal with transport hassle, and if the experience is as unpleasant as I think it will be, there will be no subsequent season ticket bought.
    LOL, 6 or 7 hours.
    Good een.

Work it out then, smartass. I have. 12-7 hoose to hoose, quite easily. Show me where my calculations are wrong.

Let me try again, you walloper.

12 noon leave the hoose, to avoid the panic late shuttle buses full of pinted-up fans and the 1400-1500 congestion on the A944.

1245 bus to NIMBYland 0.75 hours

1330 arrive at Macdiarmid North. 0.75 hours

Exit from Legoland at 1700. 3.5 hours

Wait for bus with space on it. 0.5 hours (being generous here)

Travel into town or P&R point 0.75 hours (likely more)

Town or P&R to home 0.75 hours.

Do, as they say, "the math".

    (0.75 + 0.75 + 3.5 + 0.5 + 0.75 + 0.75) = 7 hours.

Factorised: Travel time 3 hours; game time and hingin aroon admiring the views of Subsea 7 and Transocean 3.5 hours; bus waiting time 0.5 hours.

Some days slightly less, some days slightly more.

    Midweek? Forget it.

You're coming across as even more of a **** than you were when you were Gallus79.

And stop the ****ing text talk.

    Kind regards

    LVII
