All keepers these days are taught to punch/push the ball away from the danger area.lightwieghts I say as I was taught to catch the ball!
We talked about this at the game.
The thing is, he was prepared to come for crosses and clear the danger.
First game for us and he handled it well, his punch went out of the box.
He didn’t look troubled at all.
A couple of miss kicks, but also when they were fizzed at him or the pitch condition affected him.
Other kicks was very accurate.
Also saw him willing to play the sweeper keeper roll and play on the deck.
Positive start I thought
god just up , i actually thought we had won the game yesterday, however with the usual spouting from our resident " dark cloud" i realise that i didnt view a win but a humping from accies along with woodman throwing the ball into his own net .
or thats what was a wet dream for mason last night i expect
Team against united:
Woodman
Logan O'Connor McKenna Shinnie
McLean Nwakali
McGinn Christie GMS
Considine
subs; Rogers, Arnason, Ball, Wright, Maynard, Stewart, Rooney
Agree with LED re the keeper.
He looked nervous and uncertain when kicking - either from hand or a dead ball - and the couple of punches he had at crosses weren't convincing.
He did though do very well with the one clear chance Accies had.
Obvious tho that DMCI doesn't rate Rodgers. I think he deserved a few more games as he had done reasonably well since coming in.
